First
looking at this image I get a feeling of loneliness and desolate. The main
focal point of this image is the large Christmas tree, which is decorated with
lovely decorations and unopened presents. The large open space before the tree
also gives us an idea of emptiness and disillusion inside the house. Looking
further around the image i have notices there are no signs of living within the
house and no significant glues of who exactly may live there, there are no
photos or processions of the people who live there. The camera lens length lets
us to see both the sofa and tv on each side making sure that they are both
visible within the frame. The composition of the tree in the overall frame is
very large and the rule of thirds applies in this photo. The camera angle is
set as if it were on eye level which gives a feel that it really is seen
through someone else’s eyes. It connotes that maybe someone’s who is elderly
has recently had their partner pass away and now feels extremely alone at Christmas
time, having no family around at a time were you should be with family. This
person’s hand can slightly be seen in the bottom of the photography; they may
feel secluded now and not feel as if they would like to celebrate.
